Referring to your telegram of the 14th. of Lay
last, I have the honour to submit for the signification of His
Majesty's pleasure the following Ordinance entitled:-

The Ordinance as passed is practically the same as the draft submitted to you in my Confidential Despatch of the
11th. January last, with the addition of sub-sections 2 and 3 to Section 4 which provide, as in the case of the Foreign Copper Coin Ordinance 1912, for import of foreign coin on conditions.
It was pointed out to Government that some part of the trade of the Colony would be seriously hampered if the import of such coin was absolutely prohibited and I accordingly
granted the concession set forth in the sub-sections referred to.
Section 10, which is also an addition to the
original draft, carries out the policy of conferring certain powers on Revenue Officers on the principle adopted in Ordinance llo. 6 of
1913.
